Jason Stumpf, General Manager
Jason’s food and drink experience started during his college years working in a
variety of restaurants and bars. While attending St. John’s University in Collegeville,
Minnesota he stepped into his first kitchen to help prep meals for over a thousand
people. It wasn’t until he was at the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, that
he found he preferred and was skilled at the “front of the house.” He sought to
acquire experience in every floor position before moving up to management in each
new situation.
Jason’s first fine dining experience was in Fargo as a server at Littlefield’s Wine
Bar, Bistro and Gourmet Market. Jason trained his nose and palate to recognize flavors
and pairings of food and drink.
“It was really nice to work under so many chefs,
to learn their styles and their flavor profiles and then think about how to pair
drinks with all of their food,” Jason says. It was also at Littlefield’s where Jason
fell in love with wine and drink and helped to create the first Wine Spectator-awarded
cellar in North Dakota. He is devoted to bringing his customers a wonderfully unique
experience at W.F. Maxwell’s.
